You are invited to the Anniversary Sahavas on Saturday, August 3, 2024, celebrating Avatar Meher Baba’s 1956 visit to Meher Mount. You will love hearing special guest Goher (Kharas) Mobed share her own and her family’s stories of being with Meher Baba.
Sahavas means close companionship of, or in the company of, a spiritual master. It also refers to a spiritual retreat or gathering where Meher Baba’s followers meet to remember Him.
You are invited to the Dedication of the Darshan Courtyard to celebrate the completion of the courtyard.
This courtyard is an intimate space evoking the atmosphere of the Baba Room where Avatar Meher Baba gave darshan (the grace of seeing the Divine) to His followers in 1956.
The stone fireplace – Baba’s Fireplace – is all that remains after the 1985 New Life Fire destroyed the Baba Room.
“Agnes Baron was a mentor and inspiration to me,” says Sam Ervin, current board president of Meher Mount. Agnes was a co-founder of Meher Mount and the caretaker from 1946 until her the end of her life in 1994.
Sam Ervin will relate highlights from Agnes’ life and share some of his memories of her.

The program includes stories from the life of Dr. Pappur Ramachandran who met Meher Baba. Manjusha Kalavapudi, who will be visiting from Maryland, will share her father’s story.
Pappur Ramachandran’s journey to becoming a staunch Meher Baba Lover was marked by skepticism and doubts after he met Meher Baba. But later in life after Pappur’s profound experiences, he laid his life at Meher Baba’s feet, holding on to Meher Baba’s daaman. Pappur overcame physical, mental, and financial challenges and humiliation to find solace in Meher Baba’s love and service until his own final breath.
The program will be after a potluck lunch. Tea and cake will be served in celebration of Meher Baba’s birthday.

"The Divine Gift of Water" is a short documentary film weaving Meher Baba stories of water and spirituality with the journey to find drinkable water at Meher Mount.
After the FREE showing, there will be a Q&A with the film's director, Margaret Magnus. She will be joined by Sam Ervin, board president, whose 55-year-history with Meher Mount provides some perspective.

Silence Day commemorates Avatar Meher Baba's 44 years of silence. On this day, always July 10, followers of Meher Baba maintain silence for 24 hours.
Meher Mount is inviting all who are interested to visit and enjoy the silence at Meher Mount from Noon to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, Wednesday, July 10, 2021.
You are invited to be part of the Darshan Dhuni — a special dhuni (sacred fire) event on Saturday, June 12, 2021, to launch the construction of the Darshan Courtyard at Meher Mount.
The Darshan Dhuni will be lit with twigs from Baba’s Tree, followed by the voluntary recitation of the three prayers given by Avatar Meher Baba — the Universal Prayer (or Master’s Prayer); the Prayer of Repentance; and the Beloved God prayer.
Then, one by one, each Meher Baba quote will be read aloud and each piece of paper containing the individual quote will be placed in the dhuni fire.
Later, these dhuni ashes will be buried under the foundation of the Darshan Courtyard.
You are invited to be inspired and filled with Meher Baba's Presence when you come to a virtual Zoom meeting devoted to sharing personally meaningful Meher Baba quotes.
These quotes are chosen by individuals who are moved to send them to be part of a special dhuni (sacred fire) on June 12th at Meher Mount. The Meher Baba quotations — in the form of dhuni ashes — then will be part of the planned Darshan Courtyard foundation.
In the three virtual sessions, individuals will share their quotes and tell why that statement from Meher Baba is important to them.

Usually on the first Saturday in August, there is a celebration of the anniversary of Avatar Meher Baba's 1956 visit to Meher Mount. This year in 2020, there is no formal celebration due to the restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meher Mount will be open on the August 2, 2020, anniversary from Noon to 5:00 p.m. for those who wish to commemorate Meher Baba’s visit on an individual basis.
Since Meher Baba spent three days in Southern California (July 31 - August 2) on that 1956 trip, you are welcome to visit Meher Mount during regular open hours Thursday, July 29 through Sunday, August 2 from Noon to 5:00 p.m.
Visitors are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing. Please note the Visitor Center and restrooms are closed. Please do not bring your pets. There are no fires, incense or candles. You will be asked to sign-in using your mobile phone. For more information, see the Visitor Guidelines.
