“Here today, we feel relaxed, happy.”
— Avatar Meher Baba at Meher Mount, 1956

Welcome to Meher Mount

This 1:23-minute video is a short overview and an invitation to visit.

Find an Oasis of Divine Calm

In the illusory tug-of-war that is life, there is an oasis of Divine calm accessible to all: Meher Mount.

“It is a place to recharge and remind ourselves of what is real,” said one visitor.

You are welcome to visit, open your heart, and feel the peace of a deepening connection to the Divine within.

You Are an Invited Guest

Sitting at the 2,500-foot level at the summit of Sulphur Mountain in Ojai, CA, Meher Mount is a place of universal spiritual pilgrimage dedicated to Avatar Meher Baba.

Followers of Meher Baba come from all over the world in honor of Him.  Others know nothing of Meher Baba.  Still others find their way for unknown reasons or because they have heard that Meher Mount is a sacred place.

There is no “typical” visitor, because Meher Baba welcomed people of all faiths — or no faith at all.

“For the first time, I visited Meher Mount…”

Here’s how one first-time visitor described her time at Meher Mount.

“For the first time, I visited Meher Mount. I adored it.

Always loaded with spiritual expectations, we get stripped here.

All what one might envisage of a spiritual center was not there: no discourses, no meditation sessions, no designated prayer spots, no singing.

What I found was a gigantic space, breathing, moving, and changing, outside human grasp.

Colors I never knew, made of light and air, were mingling and transforming the earth with its mountains, valleys, and ocean into layers of incomparable depths, expressing a breathtaking beauty.

I stood looking at this heaven’s huge landscape, witnessing moments — which would never repeat themselves — and inadvertently entering a form of meditation.

With real helplessness to grasp such a dimension, there was one thing left for me, deep adoration. Adoration which seemed to allow the soul to reach out in silence, recognizing and rejoicing in the wondrous.

I feel hugely grateful that I could be here.”
