“Summer Song"

With the changing of the seasons
The summer sun is high
The spring bouquet has wilted
The mountain streams run dry.

Beyond the heat hazed vista
The arid land lays bare
The red-tailed hawk flies freely
Upon the warming air.

The ancient oak is thirsty
He's seen it all before
His roots have found their sanctuary
Beneath the hardened floor.

Oh summer song sing freely
Let us dance within your day
For when autumn clouds are gathered
We'll be thankful for your play.
